After weeks of speculation, Premier Brad Wall finally revealed today how the province will put a multi-billion dollar surplus to work.

Tax breaks were among the highlights in today's announcement, as the province increases the Basic Personal and Spousal Exemptions by $4000, and the Child Tax Credit by $2000 per child.

For the average individual, that works out to a savings of $440 a year, or $1320 a year for a working family with two children.

Also included in today's announcement is $1 billion toward the provincial debt, and a 50% increase towards infrastructure spending in the 2009-2010 provincial budget.
