The Saskatchewan Teachers' Federation has voted 95 percent in favour of employing sanctions, in a vote held provincewide on April 13. The announcement was made yesterday.
If employed, sanctions could range from a partial withdrawal of voluntary services to a total withdrawal of professional services.
Teachers will provide 48 hours notice to the general public before any withdrawal of services is undertaken.
Saskatchewan teachers have been engaged in a protracted negotiation process with the provincial government for the last 11 months, and have been without a contract since August 31, 2010.
