The TELUS Walk to Cure Diabetes was another success in Swift Current.

The event held this past Saturday raised close to $12,560 for JDRF, with about 90 people taking part in the event at the Lt. Col. Clifton Centre.

"We are a little down from our walk last year, I think we raised around $18,000 last year," said Donna Gatzke with the Southwest Type 1 Sharps. "We are down, but we are still very pleased with all of the support that we get."

Gatzke although they are happy with the support, they want to take another look at this event before holding it again.

"I think maybe you have to review if you're going to be continuing to do the same thing, if you want to change it up," she said. "After this year is done, we want to have a review, and particularly because we are going into the centennial year for Swift Current as well."

So far this year, the Sharps have raised around $28,000 for JDRF in their events, to help people living with Type 1 Diabetes.
