In the February 24 COVID-19 update from The Saskatchewan Health Authority they reported a total number of 56 new cases of the virus in the province.

Of those 56 new cases there are 5 in the Far North West zone, 2 in the Far North Central zone, 15 in the Far North East zone, 2 in the North West zone, 5 in the North Central zone, 6 in the Saskatoon zone, 1 in the Central East zone, 16 in the Regina zone, 1 in the South Central zone, and 1 in the South East zone.

There are 2 new cases with pending residence information.

Eighteen cases with pending residence information have been assigned as follows - 1 to the Far North East zone, 7 to the North West zone, 8 to the North Central zone, and 2 to the Regina zone.

One Saskatchewan resident who tested positive out of the province has been added to the North West zone.

The seven-day average of daily new cases is 146 (11.9 new cases per 100,000 population).

That brings the provincial total number of COVID-19 cases to 27,980, of which 1,425 are considered active.

There are currently 4 active cases in the South West zone. Two of those cases are in the South West 1 subzone, and two are in the South West 2 subzone.

Three Saskatchewan residents who tested positive for COVID-19 have died. Two deaths were reported in the 80+ age group from the Saskatoon (1) and Central East (1) zones, and one death in the 60-69 age group from the North West zone.

That brings the provincial total number of deaths related to COVID-19 to 379.

There are 158 recoveries reported, bringing that provincial total to 26,176.

There are 165  people in hospital. One hundred and forty-eight are receiving inpatient care - 7 in the Far North West zone, 2 in the Far North Central zone, 2 in the Far North East zone, 12 in the North West zone, 14 in the North Central zone, 2 in the North East zone, 54 in the Saskatoon zone, 1 in the Central West zone, 6 in the Central East zone, 41 in the Regina zone, 3 in the South Central zone, and 4 in the South East zone.

There are 17 people in intensive care - 2 in the North West zone, 1 in the North Central zone, 8 in the Saskatoon zone, and 6 in the Regina zone.

To date, there have been 565,210 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan.

And yesterday, there were 2,155 COVID-19 tests processed.

There were 683 COVID-19 vaccines administered yesterday in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 63,345.

In addition to 81% of long-term care residents having received their first dose, and 46% of long-term care residents having received both first and second doses, 76% of Saskatchewan's personal-care homes  have now received their first dose and 24% have received both doses. 

Pfizer vaccine shipments for the week of February 22 have now arrived in the Saskatoon and Regina zones. Shipments for the North West, North Central, and South West zones are scheduled to arrive later today.
