The 28th edition of The Frenchman River Gospel Jamboree wrapped up over this past weekend in Shaunavon.

President of the Jamboree, Clayton Greenlay, says that, while people that attended enjoyed the performances, numbers were down this year.

Greenlay says numbers at the pancake breakfast Saturday morning were about 220, compared to about 400 in previous years. He said he thinks numbers were low due to a lot of other things going on, and that they had no big name entertainers out this year.

Friday night there were performances at the Amphitheater in Memorial Park, but Saturday afternoon's performances had to be moved indoors to the Crescent Point Wickenheiser Center due to extreme heat and bugs.

Greenlay says people enjoyed the hot notch entertainment all weekend. "The entertainers were unreal. They were vibrant, and brought so much energy to the stage. We want to thank our sponsors. Without them the event wouldn't be possible. We want to continue, that is our intention, but whether the Jamboree does or does not will depend on the support and the sponsors."

No official dollars raised are available yet. Money raised at the Jamboree pays for two sponsorships at the Shaunavon Music Festival and then the remainder goes back into the Jamboree.
