The Great Canadian Roadtrip was sold out last night in Swift Current.

The Living Sky Casino Event Centre was filled to bursting as the triple attraction of Doc Walker, Michelle Wright, and Jason McCoy drew out a huge crowd.

Country music fans were eager, buying up nearly every $88 ticket from the Swift Current Arts Council, with many arriving even as the show got underway.

For Helen Arnold, administrator for the Swift Current Arts Council, the sight of so many people clapping and cheering along made the effort of organizing all the more worth it.

"It's pretty exciting to everybody," said Arnold. "The crowd is enthralled with the musicians."

This show was an extra show for the Arts Council. They got wind of the opportunity to host it through the Organization of Saskatchewan Arts Councils. OSAC passed on the word to the local group, allowing them to set up this performance for southwest Saskatchewan.

"We're made aware of those tours that are coming by so we can choose to host them or not," explained Arnold. "So it worked out great for this show."

The music was a mix of modern, 90s, and 80s country preferences. The music was a mix of modern, 90s, and 80s country preferences.

For anyone who missed out on this concert, the good news is that there are more shows coming up in the near future.

The Ballet Jorgen - Anne of Green Gables on March 9 is already sold out, but Piano Hiest on March 18 is still coming to town with room yet in the stands. Finally, Jack Garton arrives on March 25, offering a fantastic variety in his performance.

All tickets can be tracked down on the Arts Council website, with prices listed along with dates, times, and other information.
