In the March 4 COVID-19 update from The Saskatchewan Health Authority they are reporting a total of 169 new cases of the virus in the province.

Of those 169 new cases there are 27 in the Far North West zone, 15 in the Far North East zone, 10 in the North West zone, 9 in the North Central zone, 46 in the Saskatoon zone, 4 in the Central West zone, 5 in the Central East zone, and 41 in the Regina zone.

There is currently 1 new case in the South West zone, 3 in the South Central zone, and 2 in the South East zone.

There are 6 new cases with pending residence information.

Three cases with pending residence information were assigned as follows - 1 to the North Central zone, and 2 to the Regina zone.

Eight cases were found to be out of the province residents and were removed from the counts.

That brings the provincial total number of COVID-19 cases to 29,220, of which 1,422 are considered active.

There are currently 3 active cases in t he South West zone. All 3 cases are in the South West subzone 1.

The seven-day average of daily new cases is 148 (12.0 new cases per 100,000 population).

There are 168 recoveries reported, bringing that provincial total to 27,407.

Two Saskatchewan residents who tested positive for COVID-19 have died. One death was reported in the 70-79 age group from the North East zone, and one death was reported in the 50-59 age group from the South East zone.

That brings the provincial total number of deaths related to COVID-19 to 391.

There are 146 people in hospital. One hundred and twenty-six people are receiving inpatient care - 3 in the Far North Wes zone, 2 in the Far North East zone, 11 in the North West zone, 14 in the North Central zone, 2 in the North East zone, 52 in the Saskatoon zone, 1 in the Central West zone, 5 in the Central East zone, 33 in the Regina zone, and 3 in the South East zone.

There are 20 people in intensive care - 10 in the Saskatoon zone, 1 in the Central East zone, and 9 in the Regina zone.

To date, there have been 585,820 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan.

And yesterday, there was 2,991 COVID-19 tests processed.

The Weekly Monitoring Report for children and youth age 0 to 19 years has been released.

For the week of February 22 to 28 there were 434 active cases(6 with no location/residence information available) in Saskatchewan.

There are 40 active cases in the Far North West zone, 13 in the Far North Central zone, 45 in the Far North East zone, 27 in the North West zone, 13 in the North Central zone, 17 in the North East zone, 5 in the Central West zone, 35 in the Central East zone, 78 in the Saskatoon zone, 136 in the Regina zone, 1 in the South West zone, 12 in the South Central zone, and 4 in the South East zone. 

An additional 2,493 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 84,090.

Pfizer vaccine shipments have arrived in Prince Albert and North Battleford, and clinics will begin March 4.
