In the May 10 COVID-19 update from The Saskatchewan Health Authority there are 147 new cases of the virus reported in the province.

Of those 147 new cases there are 2 in the Far North West zone, 11 in the North West zone, 9 in the North Central zone, 6 in the North East zone, 43 in the Saskatoon zone, 8 in the Central East zone, 35 in the Regina zone, 11 in the South Central zone, and 9 in the South East zone.

There are 10 new cases in the South West zone - 8 in the South West subzone 1, and 2 in the South West subzone 2.

There are 3 new cases with pending residence information.

Two cases with pending residence information have been assigned as follows - 1 to the North West zone, and 1 to the Regina zone.

That brings the provincial total number cases to 43,288, of which 2,141 are considered active.

There are 93 active cases in the South West zone - 70 in the South West subzone 1, and 23 in the South West subzone 2.

There is one case in the South West zone in a long Term or Personal Care Home. That is at The Meadows-House 5 in Swift Current.

In the South West zone there are cases reported  at JB's Restaurant/Jigger's Lounge, and the Southwest Terminal in Shaunavon, and at The Elmwood Golf Course Restaurant/Lounge, Pattison Ag, Key Energy, Nimegeers Carlson Law Firm, and Standard Dodge Dealership in Swift Current.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 cases is 204 (16.7 new cases per 100,000 population).

No new deaths were reported, leaving that provincial total at 502.

There were 266 recoveries reported, bringing that provincial total to 40,645.

There are 156 people in the hospital. One hundred and nineteen people are receiving inpatient care - 8 in the North West zone, 3 in the North Central zone, 2 in the North East zone, 56 in the Saskatoon zone, 3 in the Central East zone, 41 in the Regina zone, 1 in the South Central zone, and 4 in the South East zone.

There is 1 person receiving inpatient care in the South West zone.

Thirty-seven people are in intensive care - 3 in the North Central zone, 13 in the Saskatoon zone, 2 in the Central East zone, 17 in the Regina zone, and 1 in the South Central zone.

There is 1 person in intensive care in the South West zone.

To date, there has been 802,636 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan.

And  yesterday, there were 2,507 COVID-19 tests processed.

As of May 9, there were 8,392 total variants of concern cases identified by screening in the province - 187 in the Far North West zone, 6 in the Far North East zone, 318 in the North West zone, 237 in the North Central zone, 50 in the North East zone, 1,029 in the Saskatoon zone, 90 in the Central West zone, 373 in the Central East zone, 4,223 in the Regina zone, 612 in the South Central zone, and 863 in the South East zone.

There are a total of 274 variants of concern cases in the South West zone.

There are 92 new lineage results reported. Of the 3,436 variants of concern cases with lineages identified by whole genome sequencing 3,378 are B.1.1.1.7(UK), 49 are P.1 (Brazilian), and 9 are B.1.351 (SA).

An additional 9,124 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered to 527,257.

Of those 9,124 vaccine doses, there were 292 administered in the South West zone.

Seventy-one percent of those over the age of 40 have received their first vaccine dose.

Sixty-one percent of those 30 years and older have received their first vaccine dose.

And 51% of those 18 years and older have received their first dose.
