It's been happening in Shaunavon for 22 years this year and tonight The Annual Parade of Lights hits the streets again.

Joanne Gregoire is the President of The Shaunavon Chamber of Commerce. She talked about the tradition behind the Parade of Lights. "It's just such a magical evening. It's become a tradition. It's fun to think that there's people out there who are now adults,  probably participating, who where just children when this started. And it 's just become a part of Christmas in Shaunavon. I think it's just a very special night and a great way to kick  off the season."

It's also the first night of late night shopping in Shaunavon. There will be kids Christmas crafts at the Museum from 4:30 until 6:30, as well as a chili and bun fundraising supper at the Seniors Centre from 5 until 7. All proceeds from the supper go towards programming at the Museum. At 6:30 the Shaunavon Public School  and Christ the King School Choirs will perform at the Museum, followed by the Official Lighting of the Town Christmas Tree.

The Parade of Lights will begin from Christ the King Church parking lot at 7 and should arrive downtown about 7:30.

Following the Parade of Lights at 9:15 there will be fireworks at the Sports Grounds north of The Crescent Point Wickenheiser Center.

PARADE ROUTE:

The Parade will start at the Catholic Church parking lot, proceed east on 6th Avenue, north and west around behind the east side of the Care Centre to 4th street east, then continues north to 10th Avenue, west to Centre Street and then south down Centre Street to 2nd Avenue.
