In the May 28 COVID-19 update from The Saskatchewan Health Authority they are reporting a total of 122 new cases of the virus in the province.

Of those 122 new cases there are 4 in the Far North West zone, 1 in the Far North Central zone, 6 in the North West zone, 12 in the North Central zone, 2 in the North East zone, 38 in the Saskatoon zone, 16 in the Central East zone, 21 in the Regina zone, 11 in the South Central zone, and 5 in the South East zone.

There is 1 new case reported in the Southwest zone. That case is located in the South West subzone 2.

There are 5 new cases with pending residence information.

That brings the provincial total number of cases to 46,285, of which 1,371 are considered active.

There are 31 active cases in the South West zone - 16 in the South West subzone 1, and 15 in the South West subzone 2.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 cases is 129 (10.6 new cases per 100,000 population).

There are 2 new deaths reported. One death in the 70-79 age group from the Saskatoon zone, and one death in the 80+ age group from the North West zone.

That brings the provincial total number of deaths to 536.

There are 131 recoveries reported, bringing that provincial total to 44,378.

There are 113 people in the hospital. That is the lowest total in the hospital since November 28, 2020.

There are 87 people receiving inpatient care - 6 in the North West zone, 5 in the North Central zone, 2 in the North East zone, 35 in the Saskatoon zone, 1 in the Central West zone, 4 in the Central East zone, 31 in the Regina zone, 1 in the South Central zone, and 1 in the South East zone.

There is 1 person receiving inpatient care in the South West zone.

There are 26 people in intensive care - 2 in the North West zone, 5 in the North Central zone, 8 in the Saskatoon zone, 1 in the Central East zone, and 9 in the Regina zone.

There is 1 person in intensive care in the South West zone.

To date, 854,364 COVID-19 tests have been processed in Saskatchewan.

And yesterday, there were 2,726 COVID-19 tests processed.

As of May 27 there are a total of 10,399 variants of concern cases identified by screening in the province - 237 in the Far North West zone, 37 in the Far North East zone, 583 in the North West zone, 419 in the North Central zone, 56 in the  North East zone, 1,595 in the Saskatoon zone, 109 in the Central West zone, 571 in the Central East zone, 4,603 in the Regina zone, 722 in the South Central zone, and 1,048 in the South East zone.

There is a total of 356 variants of concern cases in the South West zone.

There are 63 screened variants of concern cases with residence pending.

There are 2 new lineage results reported.

Of the 5,713 variants of concern cases with lineages identified by whole genome sequencing in the province, 5,529 are B.1.1.1.7(UK), 144 are P.1 (Brazilian), 30 are B.1.617 (Indian), and 10 are B.1.351 (SA).

An additional 14,351 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered to 693,625.

Of the 14,351 vaccine doses given, there were 354 administered in the South West zone.

Seventy-six percent of those over the age of 40, 70% of those over 30, and 64% of those over 18 have received their first vaccine dose.

Saskatchewan has a confirmed Moderna allocation for the weeks of May 31 (12,400 doses),and June 7 (3,000 doses).
