Swift Current Little Theatre

The 180 Theatre Festival starts tonight with The Swift Current Little Theatre's rendition of Wendy Lockman's play, Willow Road, at the Great Plains College Beatty Playhouse.

The annual festival is held in a different location every year, and this year it's our turn.

Ken Johnson, co-chair of the festival, and director of Willow Road says that it's an honor to be cosen.

"Every year Theatre Saskatchewan hosts annual festival for full length plays we were fortunate enough to host this one, we're really excited, normally it's seven plays and seven nights but we had one group drop out, so we're going with six groups and six nights," said Johnson.

There will be productions from six locations across the province, Kyle, Moose Jaw, Battleford and Yorkton.

"We start tonight of course, and then tomorrow we're fortunate that we have some local flavour with Kyle coming in and they're doing a Saskatchewan written play by Leeann Minogue called Homecoming, so I'm really looking forward to seeing that one tomorrow night," said Johnson.

On Wednesday, Moose Jaw's Community Players presents Norm Foster's "Here on the Flight Path", Thursday's Battleford's Community Players presents "Sexy Laundry" by Michele Rimi, and for Friday Yorkton's Paper Bag Players will be performing "The Drowning Girls" by Beth Graham.

Tickets are available at Pharmasave for $10 per production, or $12 rush at the door.

Doors open 7:00pm nightly with row seating and table seating available, and a cash bar and food.
