Former Swift Current Broncos defenceman Jordan Thomson is now a WHL Champion.

Thomson and the Brandon Wheat Kings knocked off the Seattle Thunderbirds 8-4 to win the Ed Chynoweth Cup in five games.

Swift Current dealt Thomson to Brandon midway through the season for defenceman Mark Taraschuk.

Seattle also featured some former Broncos as Landon Bow, Cavin Leth and Andreas Schumacher all played a big role for the Thunderbirds on their run to the WHL final.

Friday night was the last game of Bow's WHL career, while Leth and Schumacher all eligible to return next season.

Brandon will now represent the WHL in the Memorial Cup hosted by former Broncos forward Jake DeBrusk and the Red Deer Rebels.
