The Swift Current United Way is gearing up for their fall campaign, and will kick it off with a breakfast on November 9th at the Sky Centre featuring a guest speaker who's no stranger to the community.

"We're really excited to have Dr. Dean Vause," said United Way President Susan Woods. "He's formerly from Swift Current and a former Bronco, but he's probably best known for being former Bronco Captain Taylor Vause's dad. Dean is actually the Executive Director of the Alberta Adolescent Recovery Centre, and we're really excited to hear about the tremendous work he does with AARC, in particular the youth. He's helped out a number of youth and lots of Swift current youth as well."

The breakfast is part of the events for "United Way Week", which kicks off the charity's annual fall fundraising push.

"On November 5th, we're doing a flag raising at City Hall at 10:00am, so if anyone wants to come out, they're more than welcome," said United Way Executive Director Darla Lindbergh. "We also have our publication coming out on November 8th. The whole purpose behind our publication is to let the public know who the United Way is, what we do it, why we do it, and how you can support us in this goal."

Tickets for the breakfast are $25.00 each, or $175 for a table of eight and are available until Friday. You can get them by calling 773-4828 or by visiting swiftcurrentunitedway.ca.
