A tornado warning has come into effect for several areas in the southwest including:

  • Maple Creek,
  • Cypress Hill Park,
  • Consul,
  • Robsart, and
  • Willow Creek


Shortly before 11:30 p.m., Environment Canada meteorologists issued the warning, as a severe thunderstorm that is possible of producing a tornado moved into southwestern Saskatchewan.

The storm was located just west of Maple Creek and Consul, tracking slowly eastward. Damaging winds, large hail and locally intense rainfall are also possible.

Environment Canada urges residents of the southwest to take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches.
