The Town of Shaunavon Recreation Office now has application forms for the 2015 Saskatchewan Lotteries Community Grant Program.
The grants are available to non-profit groups that provide sport, culture and recreational programming in Shaunavon, and this year, the Town has about $24,000 to distribute.
"Last year, we had about $24,000 that we were granted, and we gave that all away to clubs and organizations," said Shaunavon Director of Wellness and Leisure, Ava Kalaschnick. "We had about 25 register with us, so that was awesome, and we're hoping the numbers stay high for this year."
Those involved with a community group that has a sport/culture or recreation program in Shaunavon which takes place between April 1st, 2015, and March 31st, 2016, can apply for the program.
Application forms are available at the Shaunavon Recreation Office or online at shaunavon.com, and the deadline to apply is April 30th.
The City of Swift Current recently allocated over $107,000 in Saskatchewan Lottery grants for this year to 62 local groups after their application process wrapped up in February.
