Another bout of freezing rain in southern Saskatchewan is causing very dangerous road conditions.

Travel is not recommended on highways southwest Saskatchewan, including Highway 1 from Gull Lake through Swift Current to the Morse area, Highway 4 from Cadillac to Elrose, as well as highways 32 and 37, all until further notice. Swift Current Rural RCMP are saying Highway 4 is very icy and traffic is at a standstill. The Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure is also not recommending travel on Highway 4 north of Saskatchewan Landing to Elrose, and Highway 342 from Beechy to Lacadena because of ice-covered conditions.

Freezing rain and snow are also affecting road conditions in other parts of the province. Highway 1 between Moose Jaw and Regina has snow drifts and reduced visibility, and Highway 11 from Davidson to Chamberlain and highways in the Milestone area are reporting zero visibility.

A freezing rain warning has also been issued by Environment Canada for the Swift Current area, with freezing rain continuing through this evening.
