Rain In Swift 4

It seems that the brutal winter is finally behind us, but Senior Climatologist with Environment Canada, David Phillips says that we shouldn't be putting away our winter coats just yet.

"Don't write the final obituary on winter quite yet, we don't go from slush to sweat, we kind of ease into it in March and April and sometimes early May where weather is very fickle," said Phillips.

Weather in Swift Current will be up and down for the next few months as we move into spring and summer, and Phillips says we will see a mixed bag this week.

"I could see this week in Swift Current, where you have temperatures that feel like first days of summer, back into winter. You see some rain, you see some snow, you see a thunderstorm, lots of sunshine, some clouds, it's almost a lexicon of weather possibilities," said Phillips.

There is always a silver lining. After a brutal cold winter, Phillips says we could be in for an exceptional summer.

"The good news is that our models are showing normal to warmer than normal in the next month, and some part of Saskatchewan will see normal and warmer than normal summers," said Phillips.

He adds to not forget an umbrella this week, the forecast is calling for rain on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
