Voter turnout Wednesday was slightly down from previous civic elections.

The City of Swift Current says 53.2 percent of the City's eligible voters cast ballots on Wednesday.  That number is down from the 58 percent from the last elections in 2006.

Voter turnout has been generally lower in civic elections across Saskatchewan, but Returning Officer Dianne Hahn says turnout for elections in the past nine years has been decent.  Hahn adds that the 2003 election had a 68 percent voter turnout, while the 2000 election had a 40 percent turnout.
