The group of walkers gather at Elmwood Park for the start of the Jimmy Richardson Walk for Wellness

The Jimmy Richardson Walk for Wellness was held Saturday in Swift Current.

The walk, an annual fundraiser for the local branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association, honours the late Jimmy Richardson, a client of the CMHA whose own efforts helped raise between $800 and $1000 annually for the organization.

Executive Director Ruth Smith says it was a small gathering of walkers, but is hopeful they can raise a lot of money.

Smith adds if you were unable to take in the walk, you can still donate by dropping by the CMHA office at 176 4th Ave NW.

You can lace up those walking shoes again this morning for the Great Strides Walk for Cystic Fibrosis, organized by the local Kinsmen and Kinettes.

Registration for the walk is at 8:00am at Riverside Park, with the walk starting at 9:00am.
