The Moose Jaw Warriors announced on Saturday morning that they have released General Manager Chad Lang.

Lang had been with the team since 2003, and took over as GM midway through the 2004-05 season.  He helped the Warriors to their only Eastern Conference title in his first full season as GM.

The Warriors had a dismal season last year, finishing last in the League, but that does not appear to be the reason for Lang's departure.  Team President Darrin Chow says the board wants to split the hockey and business operations, and adds that Lang did not fit into those plans.

The Warriors are expected to announce the new GM and Hockey Operations Director on Monday. There are rumours going around that former Kelowna Rockets Head Coach Jeff Truitt will be announced as the new GM.
