Just over a week ago SaskAbilities set up shop in the Buffalo Brew Pub for their annual Wing Night Fundraiser.

On the night SaskAbilties was able to sell 160 wing tickets and through silent auctions items on top of that raise $5,000.

Michelle Poirier is the community relations coordinator for SaskAbilties said it was exciting to see everyone come out and support.

"It was awesome," she said. "The community support that we had and the amount of tickets sold was phenomenal."

Poirier said that the money raised would go towards SaskAbilities programs.

"The money raised at our wing night goes toward programs and services offered by SaskAbillies and Easter Seal Saskatchewan," she said. "One of the programs would be a local summer fun program here in Swift Current that has 25 children and youth attend every summer."

Though the event is pretty new in its inception this year's wing night raw record totals.

"Last year we would about 110 wing ticket so this year we have sold 50 more tickets than we did last year so that's incredible," she said. "We had just as many silent auction items up for grabs, so it was good in comparison compared to other years. Definitely more people showed up which was great."

Poirier added that the Wing Night is also a way to get people excited about the Ability Bowl which is coming up on April 27.
