winterfest-calender

The Town of Gull Lake invites the entire family out to join their second annual Winterfest celebration and Southwest Quest Art Show and Trade Fair this Saturday Febrary 22nd.

Winterfest was started last year as a fun way to celebrate family, the community and winter, with something for everyone.

Sara Kuntz, Gull Lake and Area Recreation Director, says, "Our home base is Community Hall and our Little Green on the Prairie Park, so everything will be in that general vicinity, and you can hit up one thing or hit up all the things. We have a pancake brunch from ten until twelve at the Community Hall and we also have beef-on-a-bun for supper from five until seven, so even if you don't want to participate in the rest of the activities, you can just come on out for a good meal and then the day ends with fireworks once the sun goes down."

Things kick off at ten o'clock with a pancake brunch and activities include snow-pitch, art show and trade fair, sleigh rides, snow bowling, snow painting, mini-golf in the snow, three-on-three street hockey, maple syrup taffy and snow cones, hot chocolate and apple cider, beef-on-a-bun supper, and fireworks after dark.

"In the community hall, for the Southwest Quest Art and Trade Fair, artists and tradespeople from around the southwest will display their wares from ten until four."

Funds for the $5 beef-on-a-bun supper will help pay for future Winterfest celebrations.

Predictions are that Saturday evening's fireworks will be at least as good if not better than last year's majestic display.
