Things are starting to get back to normal in Saskatchewan, following a massive blizzard that blew through the province.

The storm left thousands of people shivering in cold homes when the power was knocked out.  It also dumped huge amounts of snow across the province and made driving dangerous.

SaskPower says some outages started Saturday morning, and about 3,000 customers were still without power yesterday.

Meanwhile, Swift Current is continuing to deal with the massive snowfall, and crews are still working on clearing city streets.  Mayor Jerrod Schafer says they've used as many resources as possible for snow removal on city streets, and have contracted snow removal trucks to help out.

Schafer adds, there's a misconception that certain areas of the city are being neglected to focus on others, but that's not true.  He says it has to do with when they can get started and, right now they are working on streets like Cheadle and Chaplin that lead into downtown.  They can only work on the downtown core in the middle of the night, and they expect to start work downtown tonight.

Schafer adds, they recently took over the maintenance of the Highway 1 service roads from the Minsitry of Highways and Infrastructure, and those streets must be cleared first, which can slow the process down.  He adds that he understands people's frustration with the snow-covered streets, but the City is addressing the snow removal as quickly as possible.
