The Grey Cup 100 Train stopped in Swift Current in September

One hundred years of Canadian sports history rolled into Swift Current in 2012.

The Grey Cup 100 Train embarked on a cross-canada journey, and stopped in Swift Current in September.

The specially-retrofitted train featured artifacts and memorabillia celebrating the Grey Cup and the Canadian Football League, and fans got a chance to see the historic trophy up close and get a picture with it.

Hundreds of football fans, many of whom in Rider green, came out to see the train, and there were a few who aspire about one day hoisting the Grey Cup as a future CFL star.

"It's a pretty cool experience," said Jaylen Mayall, who played football for the Comp High School Colts and helped out at the event. "The train's pretty cool with the different history and teams. It's nice"

The train ended its journey in Toronto for the 100th Grey Cup Final, which the hometown Argonauts won over the Calgary Stampeders.

Regina's Mosaic Stadium will host the next Grey Cup in 2013.
