Swift Current Municipal RCMP received a call on Wednesday evening about an individual unlawfully in a residence on the 300 block of Eighth Avenue North West. Officers responded to the report around 5:24 p.m. and were directed to a male who was alleged to have entered a dwelling without the permission of the resident. Police arrested the male at the scene, and an investigation into the incident is still ongoing. Swift Current Municipal RCMP say that no further information is available at this time. Additionally, the Swift Current Fire Department responded to an alleged fire involving a pile of leaves on the same street around 5:15 p.m. Deputy fire chief Dean Diguer with the Swift Current Fire Department shared that when they arrived at the scene, an individual with a fire extinguisher appeared to have used it.
