The Swift Current Broncos played the role of spoiler last night in Red Deer beating the Rebels 4-0.
The loss puts the Rebels 9 points out of the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference with only 8 games remaining in the regular season.
Josh Derko opened the scoring in the first, Taylor Vause had a powerplay marker in the second period, and Dillon Heatherington added a powerplay marker in the third before Brad Hoban added an empty-netter.
Jon Groenheyde had 45 saves for the shut-out.
The Broncos wrap up their Alberta road swing tonight with a game in Edmonton.
