The Swift Current Broncos are back home after a five-game U.S. Divison road swing as they welcome the Memorial Cup host Regina Pats this afternoon.

The Broncos got five of a possible ten points on the trip which Coach and Director of Player Personel Manny Viveiros described as having ups and downs.

Viveiros says he was able to get a sense of who works well together now that they have five new players in their lineup.

"Over these last five games we had a pretty good indication of who kind of gels together or not," he said. "Another positive thing is that we are really very happy with, is that even the different combinations we had, they had pretty good chemistry. So that's something we talk about all the time through the rest of the season and playoffs is that we are going to need people at different times to play with different players, so that was very, very encouraging."

Viveiros knows the Pats will be a tougher opponent after all their additions at the trade deadline.

"They certainly improved their club tremendously," he said. "What we're expecting is the Regina Pats team that we saw last year. A very high paced team that can really push the pace throughout the game put you on your heels if you're not ready, the time of a team that we match up really good against as far as the speed and the tempo of the game. I expect two very intense and exciting hockey games over the weekend."

The Pats have points in five out of six games since the trade deadline, while the Broncos had won six in a row before dropping their last three on the gruelling US trip.

Swift Current will also pay tribute to their 1993 WHL championship team before this afternoon's game which will be live on national television.
