The Swift Current Broncos and Saskatoon Blades square off tonight in their final game before the WHL's holiday break.

This is the third of eight meetings between the two teams this season. The Broncos and Blades have split their two previous games with both going to overtime, and scored a combined 15 goals in a wild game the last time the two clubs played on November 22nd, where the Broncos won 8-7 in OT.

The Broncos have won just four of their last ten games and dropped their last game 4-2 in Brandon, and now sit third in the WHL's East Division. Assistant coach Jamie Heward says as they've allowed more goals than they would have liked lately they need to keep it simple defensively.

"Keeping everything to the outside, and using Landon Bow as another defenceman and giving him an opportunity to make a save from the outside," he said.

The Blades, meanwhile, sit last in the division with a 7-24-2-1 record, but Heward knows Saskatoon still presents a challenge.

"Saskatoon is a quick hockey team, they work hard and they've got speed," he said. "If you're not playing your position, they will expose some holes."

You can hear tonight's game on The Eagle 94.1 FM starting with our pre-game show at 6:30pm. Puck drop is just after 7pm at the Credit Union iPlex.
