The Americans are done at the World Junior Hockey Championships.

They lost to the Czech Republic 5-2 in round robin action Friday, and will now be fighting to avoid relegation as they now can't finish any higher than 7th place.

All this before their much-anticipated New Year's Eve showdown with Canada, who has now nailed down a bye to the semi-finals. Even though tonight's game has been rendered meaningless when it comes to playoff positions, Canada Coach Don Hay says he expects Team USA to still battle hard: "They've got a lot of pride, and we have quite a rivalry between the two countries... for us, we're looking forward to the game, and earning our way in."

Face-off tonight is at 7:00pm from Rexall Place in Edmonton, and you can hear the action on the Eagle 94.1 starting at 6:30.
