Our football teams are winding up their regular schedules. Head coach of the Gull Lake Lions, Neal Boutin, sends the following game report:

Lions tame the Bulldogs

With both Gull Lake and Central Butte entering this game at 2-1, the outcome of this one was to have a big impact on the standings. After an intense back and forth battle on the field during the first half, the Lions were able to score on the final play before the buzzer to make the score 12-6 Gull Lake.

On the opening kickoff of the second half Jake Anderson was able to take it to the house to make the score 20-6 Gull Lake. The tide seemed to turn on that play, as the Lions were able to keep the momentum going during the second half. Anderson scored two more TDs (4 on the day), while  Brad Barsness hauled in two passes from Dustin Cooke for majors. The Lions also added running towndowns from Cooke and Evan Girodat. Final score: Gull Lake 50, Central Butte 6.
