Another milestone among a few for Swift Current Broncos lately.

After Eetu Laurikainen recently played his 100th game and Colby Cave played his 200th, Broncos forward Graham Black also reached the 200 games mark on the weekend.

"It's a lot of experience," Black said. "Hopefully I can take it and show some of the younger guys the ropes."

Black got his WHL career off to a later start as he was an 18-year-old rookie. He dominated the Saskatchewan Midget AAA league as a 17-year-old and had a tough choice to face between the Broncos and NCAA options.

"I haven't second (guessed) my actions once," he said. "I've loved being in Swift Current every day. The WHL has been such a great program for so many young guys growing up."

"It is the fast route to the NHL so obviously if you're trying to make it than the WHL just seemed like the logical route for me."

It did take some adjusting taking on the tougher schedule at the major junior level.

"This league is so demanding," Black said. "Playing 72 games a year is a lot more than 40 you play in Midget AAA. Getting used to that 72 schedule is really tough... keeping yourself healthy and it's just a ton of habits you have to get on and off the ice. It's your job and you have to treat it like a full time job."

Black has made a big leap forward this season into the top ten in WHL scoring with 76 points in 57 games. He has 178 career points. The New Jersey Devils draft pick will help lead the Broncos into Edmonton on Friday and Red Deer on Saturday.
