The K-Motel Midget Hurricanes suffered their first loss of the season Wednesday night, dropping a 3-2 decision to the Regina Capitals at home.

Connor Kennedy and Austin Larochelle scored for the Hurricanes, who outshot Regina 37-16.

"We battled hard, but we found out that we can make mistakes, and mistakes will cost us... the better team won tonight," said Hurricanes Coach Greg Hurrell. "The goaltending was fantastic. [Regina's goaltender] stood on his head. We didn't get the shots that we wanted... the goals we got came from crashing the net, and we didn't crash the net enough to get the puck close enough."

The Hurricanes host Yorkton and Melville this weekend, and Sunday's game against the Millionaires is a benefit for KidSport. Gate admissions will be donated to the charity and fans can get in free with a donation of used sports equipment.
