The Swift Current Broncos' Director of Hockey Operations is on his way out.

Today Jamie Porter announced his resignation from the post. He's been with the organization since 2002 and in charge of the scouting department since 2005.

He'll be with the Broncos until the end of July.

The organization isn't saying anything more at the moment, but there is a press conference tomorrow afternoon where they will announce their new head coach and director of hockey operations.

It remains to be seen whether someone will take over Porter's former role, but under another title. Manny Viveiros served as head coach/director of player personnel for the last two seasons before leaving to take a job as an assistant coach with the Edmonton Oilers.

UPDATE

Swift Current Broncos Board of Directors Secretary Kyle McIntyre released the following statement on behalf of the board:

"Jaime Porter has been a consummate Bronco. He has dedicatedly provided our organization with quality prospects for the past 15 years. We are disappointed with his decision but we wish him well as he moves onto bigger opportunities. Unfortunately for us success brings opportunities for others. Just like we provide a pathway for our players to move onward and upward the same holds true for our staff."
