Some of the best young skaters in the province will compete at the Jean Norman Skating Competition at the Fairview Arenas in Swift Current this Friday through Sunday.

Swift Current skating coach Tracy Hanson says the competition starts at 8:00am Friday and continues all day on Friday, Saturday and Sunday: "There are skaters from all over the province that attend, this year we have over 300 skaters competing in over a thousand events, and this is the highest number of entries that this competition has had in the last ten years."

There are 24 Swift Current skaters in the competition and 31 from six other southwest skating clubs, and the events include freeskates, element, interpretive, dance, spins and jumps.

Skate fans can also check out the Saskatchewan "Stars on Ice" Bursary Show Friday night at the Credit Union iplex.
