Monday, February 21 vs Weyburn (6-5 loss)

  1. Hayden Johnston (Ty Vallee)
  2. Keegan Braaten (Ty Vallee, Lane Harbor)
  3. Tyson Empey (Mark Hande)
  4. Chace Nelson (Josh Wik, Dalton Kaake)
  5. Dalton Kaake
Kyle Garland - 27 saves

Chapman: Considering we had five scratches from the line up due to injury/sickness I thought we battled pretty well.  We got ourselves into penalty trouble later in the game and with a short bench that usually never bodes well energy wise.  Losing Johnston and Roosen in the second period for fighting, which were more than wrestling matches, did not help either.  Thought the rest of the guys did their best to step up.  Give Weyburn credit they kept coming and did not quit.

Tuesday, February 22nd @ Notre Dame Argos (5-4 win)

  1. Lane Harbor (Ty Vallee, Tyson Empey)
  2. Josh Wik (Hayden Johnston, Lane Harbor)
  3. Lane Harbor
  4. George Hudec (Jayden Roosen)
  5. Lane Harbor (Keegan Braaten)
Ben Dancey 42 saves for the victory

Chapman: Played a real simple contain forecheck and defensive zone the whole game, to conserve energy, and jumped on our opportunities when they presented themselves.  We were again without four regulars and had a couple of guys playing with injuries.  The guys we had showed real character and determination to battle through and beat, who I believe, is the best team in the league.  Ben played outstanding in the late stages of the game.  Proud of the guys.

Overall pleased with the weekend, how we battled through adversity and how the veterans stepped it up in a play-off type atmosphere.  Really happy how the young guys responded under these conditions as well.  The guys have their sights set on a particular goal now and are putting the team first in trying to reach that goal.

The Hurricanes finish the regular season 24-9-7 (55 points) and can finish no worse than fourth but now currently sit in third.  First round play-off opponent won't likely be decided until after next weekend.
