The Saskatchewan Female Midget 'AAA' Hockey League's leading scorer was once again in top form on Saturday.

Swift Current's Taylor Lind found the back of the net three times as the Diamond Energy Female Midget 'AAA' Wildcats won their second straight game with a 5-2 victory over the Weyburn Gold Wings.

"One of the things you like about her (Lind) is she wants the puck and she wants to score and she competes really hard," said Wildcats' Head Coach Terry Pavely.

"Sometimes kids, no matter what level, boys or girls, they have that mentality that they hope to score and she (Lind) never hopes to score, she wants to score and believes she will score."

Looking to prevent Weyburn from winning their first game of the season, Swift Current peppered Gold Wings' goalie Meagan Perkins early and often.

After Lind put the Wildcats on the board just 18 seconds into the game, Perkins settled in and turned aside plenty of quality chances for Swift Current.

Only holding a 1-0 lead late in the opening frame, Wildcats' Captain Chloe Smith padded the lead with a power-play goal, putting Swift Current up 2-0 after one.

In the second Swift Current controlled the shot clock, however, the Wings found their way back into the game.

Despite being outshot 22-4 by the Wildcats in the middle frame, Weyburn outscored Swift Current 2-1, trimming the lead to 3-2.

Although only holding a one-goal lead, Lind made sure that Wildcats would come away with a full three points.

She scored twice in the final frame to complete the hat-trick and the Wildcats fourth victory of the season.

With the win, Swift Current now has 14 points on the season, thanks to a 4-1-0-2 record.

The Wildcats will now have a break from league play before resuming the season on November 16th.
