A local Swift Current baseball talent is having a fair share of success at the 2015 Pan-Am Games in Toronto.

Bradi Wall, a 5'6 Short Stop is currently leading the Women's Baseball tournament in RBI's with 6, and her Canadian team is currently leading in the standings with a 3-0 record.

For Wall, baseball has always been a passion she wanted to pursue.

"I grew up watching my dad play fast-pitch in the men's fast-pitch league in Swift Current. From there I fell in love with the sport, and at the age of 5 my dad put me in Swift Current Minor Baseball. I grew up playing there, playing with the Swift Current Indians all the way up to Midget. From there I played with Team Sask and played a little bit of Team West and then I went on to make Team Canada in my first year, in 2009." she said.

According to Wall, Swift Current Minor Baseball has been a big reason for where she is today.

"I've always had to play with the guys, I've always had to prove that even though I'm a girl I can play just as hard, and be just as competitive. The guys and Swift Current Minor Baseball have helped me out so much. I'm really glad my dad decided to put me into guys baseball growing up." she added.

Wall, a 2-time competitor for Canada at the Women's Baseball World Cup has experienced big events before, but this one she comments, is different.

"I'm not only competing for the Women's Baseball World Cup, but I'm also competing for Canada. We have so many other athletes around here that are competing for Canada in Track and Field, Fencing, Volleyball, Men's Baseball and Softball. It's really awesome to know that all of us are competing for Canada together." she said.

Wall and Team Canada will now prepare for their final game of pool play tonight against their boarder rival, the USA.

Both teams currently sit tied atop the standings with records of 3-0. The winner of the game will clinch first in the pool.

Looking forward to the game, Wall feels having an off day yesterday will benefit the Canadians.

"Everybody is always going to be sore from playing, you get tired. It's a good time to get recharged, not only physically but mentally. We are able to refocus in on the game and hopefully rest our arms and our legs so we can come out fresh and ready to go." she explained.

A gold medal is the hope for Wall and her Team Canada teammates, and she says, the support that has been received from the fans, not only at the events but from Saskatchewan and all throughout the country as well has helped push them towards that goal.

"I've had so many people texting me, so many people calling me. Social media has been blowing up, Twitter messages, Facebook, lots of likes. Not only do we have the support here, but you can feel the support all across the entire country. There are so many people cheering me on and sending me good luck messages. It is definitely an awesome experience." she said.

Wall and Team Canada will square off against the USA tonight at 5:00pm.
