The Saskatchewan Roughriders are on the road in Calgary for a Friday Night Football matchup with the Stampeders.

The Riders playoff hopes ended last week with a 29-18 loss to the BC Lions, so the talk around the team all week has been focused on 2012, but, veteran linebacker Barrin Simpson says they're going in to Calgary to win and play spoiler for their division rivals as they look to get a home playoff game.

"They handed it to us the last time we played them, so we want to go out there and get some get back. That's how the game goes, we're competitors," Simpson told reporters after practice at Mosaic Stadium on Wednesday before the team left for Calgary.

Simpson says he's extremely disappointed to know the fate of their season all ready, "It's a pretty bad feeling not to be able to get into the playoffs and make a run at it, that's fully disappointing. In the same token, you've got to continue to go on and do your job and enjoy and be thankful for what you do."

Despite a broken foot and the season lost, Darian Durant will start at quarterback for the Riders. Head coach Ken Miller said earlier in the week that backups Ryan Dinwiddie and Cole Bergquist could see some playing time as well.

The Riders defence will get to face Stampeders pivot Drew Tate, who will be making his first career CFL start.

Kickoff is at 7:30pm from McMahon Stadium. The Friday night doubleheader opens with Edmonton in Toronto at 4:30pm.
