The Swift Current Broncos added veteran netminder Stuart Skinner for among other things his big game playoff experience.
So far the 19-year-old Edmonton Oilers prospect has delivered just that in two strong performances to start the post-season.
He stopped 64 of 66 shots he faced in the first two games of their series.
Skinner was the first star in Friday's Game 1 making 34 saves as the Broncos shut Regina out 3-0.
"I felt great," Skinner told our broadcast after the shutout. "I was really excited. A lot of nerves going into it, but felt good after the start and the boys played a heck of a game. It was a full team win tonight."
He was again strong in Saturday's 2-1 loss keeping his team within striking distance in a very close battle with the Pats.
For those performances the WHL named Skinner their Goaltender of the Week for the third time this season.
Skinner now has a 3.01 goals against average and 0.915 save percentage in 26 career playoff games.
He will lead the Broncos into Game 3 of a tied series in Regina tonight.
