SUNDOGS 2014

SunDogs Athletics Launched their men's and women's volleyball teams for the 2014-2015 season yesterday.

The Great Plains College teams have been busy practicing for the start of the short volleyball season that goes till the end of November.

Assistant women's coach, Briana Wilms says what the women have been working on.

"This week at practice we're just working on getting into game routines and things like that, so we're just working with what we've got here and trying to put together a starting line-up. So far, it looks pretty good."

With both returning and new players from various communities in the southwest, the men's team has 10 players on the roster.

Assistant men's volleyball coach with the SunDogs Gerod Wiens tells us how the team is shaping up for their first tournament this weekend.

"I think we're just going to feel out the guys and see where they fit for the first couple of games. Most of the teams that we have seen previously, obviously they will have changed from last year as well, but I think we're confident with the team that we have and we're excited to get going."

Both SunDogs Volleyball Teams will travel to Three Hills, Alberta for the tournament against the only Alberta team in the league.
