SunDogs Earn Silver

The Great Plains SunDogs18U volleyball team won a silver medal this weekend at the Regina tournament. Here are the results:

Round Robin

* Game 1 vs. JCVC 18U (Saskatoon) > lost match 20-25, 20-25

* Game 2 vs. Regina 18U > won match 17-25, 25-21, 15-12

* Game 3 vs. Court Marshalls (Saskatoon) > won match 24-26, 25-17, 15-5

* Ended up in 3 way tie for 1st place in pool ... after tie-breaker rules, we ended up in 3rd place in pool.

Playoffs

* Quarter Final vs. JCVC 17U > won match 25-17, 25-20

* Semi Final vs. JCVC 18U > in a hard-fought, great back and forth match, the Dawgs won two straight sets 25-22, 25-16

* Final vs. Regina 18U > not able to continue with their great play from the semi final and combined with some solid play from Regina, the Dawgs lost two sets 20-25 and 13-25.

All in all, the Dawgs had a great tournament in Regina and came home with a silver medal.  Now to work on their consistency and keeping their play to the high level that they can play at!

Next up is the Asics Cup in Prince Albert on April 2-3.
