The Max Kirkpatrick rink leaves the ice after the opening ceremonies Wednesday

The local rink at the SaskTel Tankard in Shaunavon is now into the C-Event after a second straight loss.

Max Kirkpatrick's Swift Current Curling Club rink got down 8-4 and couldn't close the gap enough in an 8-7 loss to Kevin Marsh of Saskatoon on Thursday. Kirkpatrick also lost his opener 8-4 to Bruce Korte.

He will take Armstrong out of Saskatoon this morning at 8am from the Crescent Point Wickenheiser Centre with his chance at a provincial crown on the line.

Meanwhile, Regina's Brock Virtue will take on Saskatoon's Steve Laycock in the A Final today at 12:00 noon, with the winner claiming the number one seed in Saturday's page playoff games. Virtue is looking for his second-straight provincial championship with Laycock bidding for a fourth appearance at the Tim Hortons Brier.

Meanwhile in the Innovation Credit Union Super League this week, Klassen Autobody (Koster) defeated Premier Tech (James), Scotiabank (Lenz) defeated Cypress Motors (Congdon), Francis defeated Maximum Energy (McBurney), and Swift Plumbing (Wicks) defeated Jarvis Environmental (Bailey)
