Cypress Hills-Grasslands MP David Anderson

Our local Member of Parliament is reminding organizations in the southwest of the New Horizons for Seniors Program, where community-based projects can receive up to $25,000 in funding per year.

"It's just to encourage seniors to be involved in their community," said Cypress Hills-Grasslands MP David Anderson. "Grants can go towards things like volunteering programs, mentoring, expanding awareness about elder abuse, and particularly to some of the capital assistance on buildings that some of the seniors groups have."

Anderson says it's been a very popular program in the smaller communities of the riding, adding funding has gone towards things like offering classes and repairing facilities that seniors use.

You can apply for the program at www.hrdc.gc.ca/seniors.
