The home of local service organizations was hit with a break and enter over the Easter weekend.

Swift Current RCMP report that someone broke into the Lion's Club overnight on Friday.

"I beleive that building does house various service groups," said Staff Sergeant Al MacDonell. "We're investigating the matter and we would appreciate any information that the public may have."

He wouldn't get specific on what was stolen.

"I don't want to get into the particulars," MacDonell said. "There was some damage done inside. There were some items taken. I don't want to get into that."

Police say there was at least one break in overnight on Friday, but it's possible the building was also entered after that.

Meanwhile, Swift Current Rural RCMP are looking into the theft of a Honda engine from an auger parked on the North Side of the railroad tracks in Tompkins.

The red and white 11 horsepower engine was stolen sometime in the last two weeks of March.
