Swift Current City Council is addressing their expanding boundaries at their meeting tonight.

They will hold two public hearings and vote on bylaws a dealing with new boundaries, after the city recently came to an agreement to annex some land from the RM. The bylaws deal with an amendment to the Development Plan Bylaw to reflect the new boundaries, and to rezone the newly acquired land in the city's northeast and northwest as Urban Reserve District, to prevent premature development of the land.
There will also be reports on a contract agreement for new traffic signals at the corner of Central Ave N and Chaplin Street, and the re-naming and dedication of the Highway 4 bypass as Memorial Drive, which was announced by Mayor Jerrod Schafer on Remembrance Day Friday.

Also tonight, council will declare this week Restorative Justice Week and will meet with a representative from the Multicultural Council of Saskatchewan to proclaim next week Saskatchewan Multiculturalism Week.
The meeting starts at 6:30 in Council Chambers.
