This April, you might just be looking forward to getting arrested.

Swift Current's Group Two Scouts are holding an event they call 'jail and bail'; for five dollars, nominate a friend to be 'arrested' by the scouts. To be released, they must pay up. Event Organizer Malina Poppy explains.

"You call or text our jail and bail hotline to issue a summons," she said. "Our scouts come and arrest the perpetrators. They can make immediate bail for twenty dollars, but if they can't make bail, they get taken to the jail, and they must raise $100 before being pardoned and released."

Nominations for arrestees are due in by March 31. Poppy says all funds raised are going towards a trip for the scouts to the ultimate 'scout convention'- the Canadian Jamboree.

"We're doing everything we can to get these kids to the Canadian Jamboree," she said. "There's going to be 8000 Scouts there, so they're going to have a great time seeing a different part of Canada and meeting new friends."

The event will take place April 5 at the Swift Current Mall. Call or text 861-8105 to nominate someone.
