Yesterday the Chautauqua Performing Arts Festival kicked-off with music and plays throughout the day and night.

The event aims to feature local talent whether it be musical acts or any other type of performing art.

Dillon Currie the lead vocalist and guitarist for League Of Wolves helped start the festival with a performance on the patio area in a close, more personal performance than he is used to.

Currie said that he enjoys his time playing in swift current

"I live here now with my family and I love it here, it's a good pace."

Currie also added that playing in a smaller venue like the Lyric Theatre is a good way to experience music.

"It's nice, it's refreshing for a change every once in a while, to do this [perform] stripped down and play an intimate session," he said.

The three-day event runs until Saturday night.
