New Executive Director for Lyric

Swift Current's Lyric Theatre has a new executive director. Erin Gehl was selected from a group of seven applicants looking to fill the brand-new position at the theatre.

"We just realized that as the Lyric has continued to be successful to go to the next step," said Southwest Cultural Development Group President Gwen Uher. "We're finding that it's just too much for a working board, and so we just made the decision in the fall that we needed to hire an executive director."

Uher says Gehl brings a wealth of knowledge to the position and will work with the board to oversee the entire Lyric Theatre organization: "She will definitely get direction from the board of directors, but she will take over things such as helping us with our strategic planning and our marketing, event planning, and working with the media."

Gehl will take over the possition immediately.
