Information Services Corporation (ISC) launched a new and improved Corporate Registry System yesterday.

The ISC designed the new application in hopes of maximizing the efficiency of the process.

The previous system in place, Cobra, was implemented the past 15 years. Sheri Hupp, Director of Corporations for the Ministry of Justice, says Cobra's addition of a human element slowed down the registration process.

"Cobra allowed some of the filings to happen online, but not all of the filings. A good number of the filings that came into the corporate registry would come in by paper or fax. In addition, a good number of those had to be reviewed by a person." she said.

The Director of Corporations for the Ministry of Justice also explained the old process was lacking a certain effiency both customers and the 21st century demand.

"I think customers have been looking forward to this for a long time. This (new system) will allow things to happen quicker and faster, which people want in today's day and age." Hupp said.
