Ground has been broken in Shaunavon for a new 10,000 square foot strip mall and a new 57 room Canalta hotel.

Kyle Bennett from Bennett Real Estate Ventures is building the strip mall, which will feature a Subway restaurant as well as retail and office space to rent. He adds the project has been a number of years in the works>



Bennett says construction work will begin shortly and they hope to have the new Subway restaurant open by this coming spring.

BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

You can have a say in Shaunavon's 100th birthday celebration.

The Centennial Committee will be holding a public meeting at 7pm Wednesday night in the Cresent Point Wickenheiser Centre to discuss and brainstorm for all aspects of the July 2013 celebration.

If you can`t make it to the meeting, you can still contribute your ideas by leaving them in the drop boxes at any of three finanacial institutions, the Seniors Centre or the Museum.
